Tax Free weekend is a "break" for Back To School shopping which applies to items purchased during a specific time period as specified by that state. Of Course Wisconsin is not included in this weekend, but we hope your state is. Here is a list of the states participating in the Tax Free Weekend along with dates:
- Alabama-Aug 5-7. Clothing under $100, school supplies under $30,books under $30, and computer and computer equipment under $750.
- Connecticut- Aug. 21-27. Clothing and Shoes under $300 per item
- Florida- Aug. 12-14. Books, clothing & Footwear $75 or less.School supplies $15 or less.
- Iowa- Aug 5th-6th. Clothing and shoes under $100
- Louisiana- Aug. 5-6. Purchases under $2,500 except taxable services.
- Maryland- Aug.14-20. Clothing and Shoes $100 or less.
- Mississippi- July 29-30. Clothing and shoes under $100
- Missouri- Aug. 5-7.Clothing under $100, school supplies under $50,computer software under $350, and computer and computer equipment under $3,500.
- New Mexico- Aug. 5-7.Clothing under $100, school supplies under $15,computers under $1,000, computer equipment under $500.
- New York- Ends March 31st.Clothing and footwear under $55 per item.
- North Carolina - Aug. 5-7.Clothing, footwear and school supplies under $100,sports and recreation equipment under $50,computers under $3,500,computer equipment under $250.
- South Carolina- Aug. 5-7. Clothing, accessories,footwear, school supplies,computers,computer equipment.
- Tennessee- Aug. 5-7.Clothing, school and art supplies under $100.Computers under $1500
- Texas- Aug. 19-21st.Clothing, Footwear and school supplies under $100. Backpacks under $100 for elementary and secondary students.Includes Layaway items.
- Virginia- Aug. 5-7.Clothing and footwear under $100.School supplies under $20.
